MISSION
This glorious, ancient Chinese culture flourished for 5,000 years. It would have lasted until today. Unfortunately, this rich tradition was interrupted by an unprecedented assault. In 1949, the Chinese Communist Party seized power and began to systematically destroy this ancient masterpiece.
Our Mission is to revive and to introduce to local Canadian communities the genuine 5000-year-old history and the essence of traditional Chinese culture, which has all but being destroyed in recent decades.
RENAISSANCE OF TRADITIONAL CHINESE CULTURE
Fortunately, Tradition is called tradition because it has a magic way of staying in people’s heart and waiting to be awakened…We all missed European Renaissance 500 years ago, the Renaissance of Chinese culture is unfolding right in front of us!
One of the driving forces of this renaissance is Shen Yun Performing Arts – the world’s premier classical Chinese dance and music company outside of China.
In 2006, leading Chinese artists from around the world came together, in New York, with a mission to revive authentic Chinese culture and provide a live window to the world through performing arts. They formed “Shen Yun”.
Shen Yun means “The beauty of divine beings dancing”.
Up to the present year, Shen Yun show has toured over hundred cities around the globe including Vancouver, bringing the wonders of ancient Chinese culture to the audience, resonating with people regardless of nationality, age or social status, leaving millions in awe.
